About
Welcome! I’m Michelle Usher, founder of Diamond Mindful Health.
I’m a mindfulness and MBCT teacher, trained with Sussex Mindfulness Centre, and also work as a community mental health nurse within the NHS. My journey with mindfulness began through my own experiences with anxiety and has since become a central part of my life - personally and professionally.
I’m passionate about supporting people to build mindfulness into everyday life, helping you relate differently to stress, anxiety and the pressures of daily living. I also bring years of experience in mental health nursing and group work, both in the UK and New Zealand, to guide you with compassion and practical insight.
As a Mum and solo parent, I understand how challenging it can be to juggle everything while looking after your own wellbeing- and this inspires the way I teach.
At the heart of Diamond Mindful Health is a simple belief: like a diamond, our resilience and clarity are often shaped through life’s pressures, and mindfulness offers a gentle way to connect with and strengthen what has been there all along.
Diamond Mindful Health recognises the many pressures people juggle - be it demanding careers, family life, to the often overlooked task of tending to their own wellbeing. It takes courage and grit to manage it all, and mindfulness can help reconnect with the strength already within.
Ways I Work:
Monthly Mindfulness Group Meditation. An in person gathering in my local community of Uckfield. Offering guided meditation in a gentle, ongoing space for shared practice, reflection, and connection.

Frequently asked questions
-
Mindfulness simply put, is the awareness that arises from paying attention on purpose in a non-judgmental way to how things are in the present moment. So by practicing ‘formal practices’ and meditations we cultivate the ability and strength of mindfulness. It helps us meet and manage our circumstances with skill and compassion, helping us meet difficulties with more choice and gain greater well-being.
-
In such a busy overwhelming world practicing mindfulness is essential. Research has consistently shown that practicing mindfulness regularly, is helpful in managing a wide range of conditions, as well as improving overall well-being. As such mindfulness is increasingly taught in healthcare, workplace, education and other settings.
-
Courses will consist of psychoeducation and mindfulness training, guided mindfulness meditations -to bring awareness to patterns of thoughts, feelings and behaviors; and recognising ways in which the mind relates to these. Training will help to notice any limiting patterns, and develop skillful ways to relate to experiences, and make more compassionate and helpful choices.
-
Some mindfulness practices can be more difficult for those who are autistic and / or have adhd, often due to differences in sensory experiences. As an informed teacher, my aim is to be inclusive and welcome you as you are, and encourage you to please discuss any reasonable adjustments we can put in place for you to get the best out of any of the course options.
